How to Restart / Reboot Apple Studio Display [Tutorial]
Today we will show you how you can restart or reboot your Apple Studio Display in a few simple steps.
You Can Restart or Reboot Your Apple Studio Display in Order to Troubleshoot Issues
In typical Apple fashion, the newly released Studio Display does not come with any onboard, physical controls. You plug it in to your Mac or iPad and it shows you stuff on the display – simple as that.
To handle certain things, such as Spatial Audio, Center Stage and Hey Siri, Apple ships the Studio Display with the A13 Bionic chip. The underlying software to take care of those tasks is iOS. Yes, the same software that powers your iPhone. This also means that you can run into issues on an occasionally basis. When that happens, you need a good old restart to fix everything up.
But wait, how do you restart a monitor that has zero onboard buttons? Here’s how…
Note: We will recommend disconnecting the Mac’s USB-C / Thunderbolt cable from the Studio Display before proceeding forward.
Step 1. First and foremost, locate the power outlet in which your Apple Studio Display is connected.
Step 2. Unplug the Studio Display completely.
Step 3. Wait for at least 10 seconds.
Step 4. Plug the Studio Display back in and let it start normally.
That’s it, your Studio Display has completely rebooted itself and issues you may have been facing should be resolved now.
Remember, there are some issues that could be directly tied to software. In order to resolve those, you have to wait for official software updates to arrive. If you want to check whether or not there is a software update available for you, simply go to System Preferences > Software Update on your Mac. If there is any available update here for your Studio Display, install it. Also make sure that you are running the latest macOS update as well.
Also give your Mac a restart to see if your issue has been resolved. If nothing works then you might want to wait it out until a software update appears for you. Given this is an Apple product, therefore you can expect it to receive update on a timely basis for a long period of time.
