Patriot Place Art Studio & Gallery Offers Friendly Locale For Artists

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio)The Artist’s Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place in Foxborough is doing what it can to dispel any stuffy stereotypes.

“I tell people that we’re the fun art gallery, we’re not stuffy at all,” gallery owner Jack Gannon told WBZ NewsRadio Wednesday. “People sometimes have a mental feeling about art galleries, should I go in, shouldn’t I go in. You come in here once, you’ll want to come back over and over and over again.”

The studio displays a diverse array of artwork up for sale from 14 local artists. There are also occasional art classes for the general public, and two guitars and a keyboard set up in the corner that anyone can use.

“I paint here in the gallery as much as I can. I use it as my studio,” said artist Anne Gorbett.

While a piece of prime real estate at Patriot Place sounds expensive, Gannon told WBZ that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft allows them to stay rent free as a promise to his late wife, Myra, who died in 2011.

“Myra Kraft really wanted culture in her marketplace. Mr. Kraft kept that going,” Gannon said.
